JOURNAL ONE

DATE: mARCH 26TH, 2010

I am going to start by describing my students briefly, this is a small group of 10 staudents 4, girls and 6 boys, the school is private so every single group is small, my students' ages are between 7 and 8, it sounds kind of easy to work with children of those ages but behind my student's faces there are many things that really make you twice before comming into the classroom ans start a class. Today was a very good day, because the class ws very interesting, all the students were very participative, they wanted to make part of the class all the time, they were in a writing in a quiet way but suddenly one of my "dearest" students started to talk out lout and stood up to bother his classmates ( this boy doesn't hear anyone, he does the same in the other classes, he doesn't follow directions) I tried to make him sit down by asking him to behave and stay quiet, after trying many times and negotiating he did it, in the end I could continue doing my job.

I also could notice that studens get bothered by his classmate's behavior, some just get really mad and and complain and the other just join him/her ( because there are some girls wh sometimes don't behave at all and act like boys, kicking back as a response of the boys attacks) to bother the rest of the class. At the end I could finish my class, I did acomplish the main goal, wich was to teach them the family members and I can say they understood big part of the topic, altough there were some students that had some doubts about the vocabulary.

My Autobigraphy

Some lines about me ....

My name is Leidy Johanna Arizala Pardo, I am 21 year old, I was born here in Neiva in February 28th, 1989 I have lived all my life here in Neiva, Altough I have been in other cities I like mine,it can be small, hot but it's my home town and I wouldn't change that for anything, Nowdays I am living in the south of the city, I live with my grandmother and my brother they are some of the most important people in my life.

I started my suties at a very young age I can remember my first day of school, that memorie just got stuck in my mind like frozed across the time, I started at 4 years old doing my preschoolar studies at a small school in my neighborhood, I did a very good job there, thanks to my mother who was always encouraging me to go beyond what teacher told us to do, so she helped me to build my own plan after school, I did homeworks and I did more things to practice or just to reinforce what I had learnt. I did my primary studies at the same school too... it was cool, about English class I remember that I was fascinated with that language, I do have very good memories of those days.

One of the hardest moments I had to go through in primary school was that after I finished it my mother wanted me to go to a bigger institution, beacuse she wanted me to grow up in a bigger school and with a new enviroment, so I did , I went to Liceo de Santa Librada School, at the beggining was really hard, since I came from a small school but I managed to get used to the new school, I had a great time at that place I made lots of new friends, and there I realized of how much I loved English ...I do rememember every English teacher I had, since 6th grade until 11th, every one of them in their very unique and original way made me fell inlove with it, but of course some of them are the ones I remember the most, one is the teacher I had in 9th grade, she made us got into English trhough modern topics like music and stuff like we would be interested in, so for me it was like a great way to study and keep updated about modern topics, another teacher is the one I had in 10th and 11th grade, I must say she is an amazing teacher, with her I learnt so many things, she did a great jo encouraging us to improve our learning skills at home by sevral stuff she gave us to do.

Being in the universiy was a huge step, there I started to build my way to become an Enlgish Teacher, I must say it has been a everyday learning process, I just remember my very first day in front of a whole classroom, it was very scary we were doing some observations visits in the DIPDI course, it was a 10th grad group, I was scared becaue I thought we weren't going to be able to handle the group but in the end they behaved very well and helped us with our job. then the student teaching came this was last year, I chose to do the primary one first, because I love to work with children so I tought it would be better to start with that one, I was in charge of three groups at Claretiano school, they were 4th and 5th grade, the first day were intense, working with children is demanding so I had to made up new acticities to keep them busy but at the same time make them learn by having fun, the complementary activity eas just great, I just remember the feeling I got by seeing them doing all what they learnt in class it was a very nice experience. After doing student teaching at Claretiano one of my cooperator teachers asked me to keep working with her gropus, I kept working there for the rest of the year , it was very rewarding , then starting 2009 I got a job offer at Liceo de Santa Librada to work with the "Media Técnica Program" I accepted of course, I knew I was going to feel like home working in my school, I got to work with girls from 10th grade, I was very excited and a Little nervous to be honest, but I took it as a challenge so I did my best to get my students interested in the class, I was very grateful beacuse at the school there was enough material to work with them, so classes were different every day, they also got to present something at the English day at the school and they did it great, I tried many new things with them, always remainding my days at school when I was in 10th grade, what was cool, what wasn't, all what I had dreamed in an English class to gather new ideas, I also got a very good communication with the girls so all those factors helped me to do a very good job. The complemetary activity was a great opportunity to make them share their learning experiences with the girls from the morning that were also in the same program, at the end of this experinece I learnt so many things, I am very grateful with the people that made possible my peformance as an English teacher. Nowdays I am working a small school I have in charge all the primary and it is very demanding I had never worked with 1st ,2nd and 3rd grade but well as everything I took it as a challenge, I am looking forward finishing my studies and travel abroad! I can't wait to make this happen ....well so far these are some lines about me!!
